I. School Workshops

We offer customisable workshops for students of different grades, and as per the requirement of schools. Whether you want to spare an hour of learning time, a week for an Astronomy camp, an evening for star gazing, or host a long term Astronomy club, we are here to help.

For our young space enthusiasts we cover topics like stars, constellations and solar system, making sessions fun and engaging with the use of demonstrations, models and story telling. For the middle and high school students we include topics like galaxies, space missions, trigonometry, optics and magnetism in addition to the above. We can also conduct data analysis workshops using astronomical data and common software available in school computer labs. Get in touch with us to know more!

i. Orientation workshop

A presentation along with interaction and demonstration by the educator and team members. Each session can cover atmost 100 students, and will last for 60 minutes.

ii. Interactive workshop

A presentation along with interactive activities and quiz by the educator and team members. Each session of 60-90 minutes will include upto 30 students, and will be split into 2 parts: the first part will be for 20-30 minutes orientation by the educator. The second part will include activities and quiz. Materials and stationery required for all activities is inclusive. Take home DIY kits or small prizes/gifts may be given depending upon the topic covered.

iv. Astronomy camp

A week long Astronomy camp organised at your choice of venue, extendible upto 2 consecutive weeks during school vacation period. The camp can run with at least 15 students per batch. Each session will be around 3 hours long with a snack break in between. The session will include 20-30 minutes of presentation by the educator and team members, discussions, quizzes, games, story telling session, DIY art and craft activities, experiments, and much more!

In collaboration with industry partners we offer excursion trips to various locations such as Jim Corbett and Mukteshwar. Depending upon the mutually acceptable itinerary, the excursions may include accommodation (camp or hotel) and outdoor activities (e.g. rock climbing, safari, rappling, rafting etc.). We will provide two (3 hours each) sessions at the observatory (1 day time, 1 night time) and other Astronomy based interactive activities. Possibility to see Planets, Nebula, Binary Stars etc. at night, and Sun observations during day with the telescope. Take away (Astronomy themed) gifts will be provided to all students.

We suggest students of class VIII and above for such excursions. Minimum 50 students are required for each trip.

Price depends upon duration, time of visit and location. We will require confirmed dates at least 5 weeks ahead of the excursion.

II. Other Services we offer

iii. Sky observing session

1 day-time and 1 night-time observing session with modern telescopes. Possibility to see Planets, Nebula, Binary Stars etc. at night, and Sun observations (sunspots etc.) with the telescope. Confirmed dates required at least 2 weeks in advance. Schedule subject to change at short notice due to weather conditions.

III. Short courses and workshops for college students

With 17 years of experience in academic research, teaching and mentoring thesis students, Dr. Smriti Mahajan is fully equipped to teach short and long term Astronomy modules to university students.
